Overview of Permanent Patent

A Permanent Patent, more accurately called a Complete Patent Application, is the final and detailed submission required to obtain a full patent under the Indian Patents Act, 1970. Unlike a provisional patent, which only secures a temporary filing date, a permanent patent includes complete specifications, detailed claims, and enables the examination process leading to patent grant and enforceable rights.

Once granted, a patent provides exclusive rights to the inventor for up to 20 years from the filing date.

Key Components:
Complete Specification with detailed description and working examples
Patent Claims defining legal boundaries of the invention
Drawings/Diagrams to illustrate the invention visually
Statement of Inventorship establishing creation rights
